Whether you celebrate Easter religiously or not, the holiday can act as a perfect excuse to gather your loved ones together for a special and memorable picnic. Since we are beginning to be blessed by more warm weather days, grab your picnic basket and blanket and follow along to learn all of our favorite goodies to include for your next afternoon outside.
Step one is always finding the perfect place. You want your picnic to be in a quiet and private area, but also not too far away, making it easy to access. A charming park or even your loved ones backyard can act as the perfect place to host your relaxed get together.
The next step is where it gets fun! Creating a beautiful yet filling basket may be difficult. We recommend stacking your basket with a variety of snacks that will keep you and your guest happy and not hangry. Starting with the filling snacks - these can range from hummus with veggies to protein salads, such as chicken salad or egg salad, which you can keep cold with some sweat-proof ice packs. Other savory snacks can include hard cheeses which can be either paired with some organic crackers or fresh bread. Including elements from local bakeries or boutique food shops can also act as perfect conversation starters for your picnic.
For those with a sweet tooth you can add jams for your cheeses, fresh cut fruits and berries, as well as any mini baked goods. Finding pastel colored cookies or cupcakes can add a super cute eye-catching element for all of your guests. You can also add fun pops of color by pouring up some rosé or sparkling pink lemonade.
Making the space comfortable and spacious is also essential to hosting the perfect afternoon. Making sure you have a waterproof blanket will ensure the moisture from the grass does not soak up into the blanket. You can also add outdoor throw pillows to lean on for some extra coziness. Finally, spice up your place with a simple bouquet of flowers or even sprinkle some pink petals around your spread for the perfect shot.
